A traditional festival with history that dates back some 430 years,
Setagaya's Boroichi is a flea market.
There will be approximately 750 stalls this year,
closely packed together and selling everything
from antiques to old clothing and sundries.

The History of Boroich (Rag Fair)

The origins of which are believed to go back to

the Rakuich Okitegaki (the written laws governing rakuichi,

a place where merchants could trade freely

under the protection of a feudal lord in the Warring States period)

issued by Hojo Ujimasa in 1578.
