The Bat was a good-luck symbol of happiness
at one time in Japan.










At Japanese old house, occasionally
I find a bat put on the transom window　
made of wooden panel , on the
paper sliding door and the building decorated
various charms against evil.































Our ancestors liked it as the lucky animal which exterminated the harmful insects of the fields.

Bat is one of the "engimono"
in China because
they bear a lot of children.

Japanese garden SANKEIEN in Yokohama

Let's put on a hat
for autumn hiking.

We went to enjoy Japanese garden
SANKEIEN GARDEN.
It takes approximately 30minutes by car
from Yokohama Station.

This vast, genuine Japanese garden with an area of 180,000 square meters was built in 1906 by Sankei Hara, who made a fortune through silk trading, and was also known as a dilettante. Rinshunkaku and the three story pagoda (moved from the former Tomyoji temple) in the garden have been designated as national cultural properties. The garden is well known for its plum blossoms in winter, cherry blossoms and azaleas in spring, and the changing colors of leaves in autumn, making it popular among foreign visitors.

We picked up a lot of acorns
on the weekend in a park.

It is difficult for me to make this. (LOL)

① 　I prepare a small bottle.

② 　I prepare burrs, leaves, an acorns
of the imitation.

I bought
one set of chestnuts decoration -
100yen≒1 $,
one set of acorn & leaves decoration -
100yen≒1 $.

④　I stick paper clay on the
front of the bottle, and
fit acorns on paper clay.

You can make such
an ornament easily ♪

Appreciate it together.

Chinatown in Yokohama

It is the first day in consecutive holidays.
Moreover, it is very fine today.
Let's go to the Chinatown !

Gates to Chinatown, built based on
the Chinese horoscope, are called Pairo.

Living up to its boast of being one of the biggest Chinatowns
in the world, more than 500 restaurants and groceries etc.
